You are able to force people to use a Project and Funding Code when booking certain instruments in your lab/facility by making it a requirement. This can be enforced on the Individual lab members profile or on the Group details.

Under the Projects tab, you and/or other lab members (with a high enough level role) can create a project and assign funding codes, expiry dates, amounts and the users who are allowed to use these. When booking an equipment, the user is able to select the desired Project in order to record the booking cost against it.
